O Bloco de Esquerda divulgou um alerta para a situação dos trabalhadores e trabalhadoras da Visteon, que "foram inesperadamente confrontados com a proposta da empresa de iniciar um processo de lay-off, a concretizar-se já em Dezembro, com 11 dias e, de Janeiro a Abril trabalharem apenas 4 dias por semana, remetendo o quinto dia para o lay-off. A Visteon produz sistemas de controlo climático, electrónicos e plásticos para automóveis. São mais de 2000 trabalhadores que vão ser confrontados com uma redução de aproximadamente 1/3 do salário, numa altura de crise, de juros altos para a habitação e de dificuldades em fazer face ás despesas quotidianas.
Na nota divulgada, o Bloco de Esquerda solidariza-se com os trabalhadores desta empresa do concelho de Palmela, e "exige que o Ministro da Economia intervenha de imediato junto da gestão, no sentido de encontrar soluções que, evitem esta situação que deixa os trabalhadores numa grande fragilidade. É o desemprego encapotado que não conta para as estatísticas, é o empobrecimento de quem trabalha."
Para o Bloco, "Exige-se por isso que a empresa negocie com os trabalhadores outras alternativas que garantam que o salário mensal dos trabalhadores não seja afectado."
